Astrology
is not what you may believe or have been told. When I first started studying
Astrology about 35 years ago, I was very skeptical that the date you were
born could influence your personality. It seemed illogical that planets
so far away could affect human beings on Earth. After much study, I became
aware of the new physics of Albert Einstein, Neils Bohr, and others. These
new understandings have changed our view of the Universe and our place
in it. It is now clear that we humans could not be isolated from the energy
that swirls around us if we tried.
Subatomic
particles, black holes, quasars, and images from the Hubble satellite
telescope show us that the air around us is full of energy. This new physics
and view of the Universe make the basis arguments for Astrology seems
more plausible. Astrology is more than meets the eye. You can't say, "I'm
Aries", and let it go at that. Your birth chart is made of all of
the Astrological signs. Your exact time of birth, date, and location of
birth will show your "life path". It is as personal as your
thumb print, and as complex as your personality.
Astrology
has been around as long as we have been on this planet. Over time, we
have studied the information gathered, about the relationship between
the planets overhead and life on the planet Earth. Astrology is the language
we have developed to talk about it. Our desire to have a greater understanding
of who and what we are have caused us to continue to study the pattern
the planets made on the day we were born. The planets can be seen as symbols
of parts of human behavior. Some of us realize just how important it is
to know as much about ourselves as possible, and learn this knowledge
from Astrology.
Astrology
is the study of human behavior as influenced by the energy and interaction
of the planets and the Sun. Everything changes over time and the language
of Astrology has also changed. For most of you, the only contact you may
have had with Astrology is through a newspaper column using astrology
as entertainment. This is interesting and fun but has no relationship
to the way Astrology is practiced today. The modern Astrologer uses computer
programs to plot spherical geometric algorithms showing the exact position
of the planets at the hour, geographic location, and calendar date of
birth. The relationship of the planets and the moon to our energy source,
the Sun, all play a role in determining what characteristics are possible
in an individual.
I explain
it this way: It is a language of symbols that represent the characteristics
of human beings based upon their relationship to the Sun and the planets
that revolve around the star we call the Sun. Let us say that you were
born in July, but the characteristics of the sign Cancer do not seem to
describe you. You have just discovered a part of your real chart. While
you may have been born in the sign of Cancer, your influences from the
Moon and the planets change how you perceive and react to the world around
you. Your birth chart contains all of the Astrological signs, some more
influential than others.
None
of this would have any meaning unless the principles of Astrology can
be used to improve the quality of your life! I believe you can use the
knowledge it reveals to help solve problems, and improve your relationships
with the people you love and the people you work with. Understanding the
cycles of the planets moving through the sky can provide a timetable for
organizing your life, much as the seasons of the year mark the timing
of different activities. It is based upon twelve principles or characteristics
that you will recognize as the signs of the Zodiac. A complete birth chart
analysis using the date, time, and place of your birth can help you understand
yourself or knowing the sign of others in your life can aid in understanding
your relationship with them.
