SCORPIO

Scorpio is the eighth sign and is fixed in it determination to stay in control. People experience the Scorpio energy as very intense. Scorpio symbolizes your desire and drive to explore your own inner depths in order to achieve greater understanding of motivating impulses. The goal is self-mastery.  When you turn your attention to probing the psyche of others you may be drawn to psychology, detective work, medical research, and insurance investigation.

Money you share jointly with others is an important issue. Whether it is a joint bank account or an inheritance it usually leads to the question, “Who earned it, who spends it, and for what?”  Aside from money issues, the greatest dilemma in achieving self-mastery deals with the strong sexual desire, causing you to ask, “How can I get my sexual needs met without disrupting the rest of my life?” Some find the answer in celibacy in a religious setting or perhaps as a scientist too busy to have a personal life. When you attempt to find a partner who can match your intensity, you may be disappointed. A frank discussion about your need for sexual loyalty and an understanding about the importance of a satisfying sexual relationship could head off heartache later on. It is actually more important that you establish agreement about the issues you consider vitally important than to focus upon only one factor.

When your intense determination is focused upon a cause you are inclined to stay the course until a solution is found or the goal has been reached. You have courage and the ability to endure more pain than most. Even as a child you exhibited a kind of stoic inner strength. This should have made it clear to your parents that early, firm guidance by a loving parent would be necessary or trouble was sure to follow. You would have responded well to the expectation that you would discipline yourself along lines that followed the family code of honor. If no code was taught, you may have had to struggle with overcoming your headstrong nature until you encountered someone who called a halt and demanded that you act responsibly. As you have matured, you may have been called upon to display great acts of bravery. So if you were fortunate enough to have parents or caretakers who taught you sound values and self-discipline, you already have a guide that will serve you the rest of your life.

You may recall that family secrets were an open book to you especially when you were young. You seemed to know when trouble was brewing or someone was not following the rules. Yet you had the ability to keep your own secrets intact. Others may accuse you of being secretive. You probably don’t know when you are withholding information. Your natural response is to keep things to yourself. Family and friends learn that if they want the information passed on to others, they should say so, otherwise it will stop with you.

As you might guess, making friends may not be easy because you have certain standards. The friendships you do form often last a lifetime. When someone you have trusted wounds you deeply they should not imagine that they are home free just because you meet the blow with silence. You can be a tough fighter and will challenge your opponent immediately to a fight if you feel it is a point of honor. Otherwise, you will choose the time and place which is when they least expect it. The retaliation may be so subtle they won’t be sure that you are responsible. That brings up the fact that it is difficult, if not impossible to read a Scorpio’s facial expression. You seem to practice keeping your face immobile unless you have a need to be understood. You may conceal shock, embarrassment, or anger. A shrewd observer may notice the tightening of your jaw or the steely glint in your eyes. When others are caught in the grip of your Scorpio charm, they will tell their friends how cool, sweet, and gentle you are. They will discover soon enough the boiling cauldron of passion and strong opinions about everything that lies just beneath the surface, as in volcano.

The planet Pluto “rules” Scorpio. Pluto rules plutonium and nuclear power. Enough said. Astrologers say the planet Pluto “rules” Scorpio. They mean that the qualities of the planet are in harmony with the sign Scorpio.  It is easy for people to think they understand Scorpio because they know several from your generation. Unless they know the sign Pluto was traveling through at your birth, they may guess wrong. Pluto stays in one sign for years. Pluto in Cancer is very different from Pluto in Leo or Virgo. It is worthwhile to have an Astrologer check the sign and “degree“ of Pluto for your birthday and year to determine where Pluto was at your birth.  In order to have a more detailed and complete horoscope or chart you will need your birth day, exact time and the city of your birth. A personal interpretation will reveal the unique person you are.
